Our new fully automated cutting and sawing line for aluminium profiles is the ideal fusion of precision, speed and user-friendliness. The performance advantage begins at loading: a seven-strand magazine accepts raw stock up to 7 300 mm long and delivers it to the electronically positioned pusher. The gripper’s built-in light barrier automatically detects the profile’s height and width, servo-adjusts its jaws and moves the material into cutting position at up to 180 m/min.

At the heart of the line is the KS 650 R circular saw with an 18.5 kW direct drive. A ball-screw spindle guides the 650 mm blade from back to front; both speed and feed rate are saved profile-by-profile in the SIMATIC S7-1500 control. The result: length tolerances of ± 0.10 mm and angle accuracy of ± 0.15 °—benchmarks usually reserved for high-precision machining. And with a minimal trim length of just 85 mm, you maximise material yield.

The flow continues post-cut: good parts up to 7 200 mm exit the safety cell via powered roller tracks and height-adjustable cross-conveyors, while trims and short sections are automatically separated. A sound-damped safety hood keeps idle noise below 85 dB(A) and, together with vertical and horizontal clamping devices, ensures a safe working environment.

The line monitors itself—from minimum-spray coolant level to cycle stop at magazine empty or excess cutting load—and offers real-time remote support via the integrated IXON VPN router.
