Our new fully automatic cut-to-length and sawing line for aluminum profiles is the perfect combination of precision, speed, and user-friendliness. The system demonstrates its strengths right from the loading stage: A seven-strand magazine accommodates raw material up to 7,300 mm in length and feeds it to the electronically positionable pusher. Thanks to an integrated light barrier, the gripper automatically detects the height and width of the profile, servo-adjusts the clamping jaws, and positions the material at up to 180 m/min precisely for sawing.
The heart of the system is the KS 650 R circular saw with 18.5 kW direct drive. The 650 mm saw blade plunges from back to front via a ball screw; speed and feed rate can be stored profile-specifically in the SIMATIC S7-1500. This achieves length tolerances of ± 0.10 mm and angular accuracy of ± 0.15° – values otherwise only found in high-precision machining. With a minimum remnant length of just 85 mm, you also increase your material yield.
Everything stays in flow even after cutting: Good parts up to 7,200 mm are discharged from the safety cell via driven roller conveyors and height-adjustable cross conveyors, while cut-offs and short sections are automatically separated. A sound-insulated protective hood limits the noise level at idle to a maximum of 85 dB(A) and, together with vertical and horizontal clamping devices, ensures a safe working environment.
The system monitors its process independently – from fill level control of the minimum spray cooling to cycle stop when the magazine is empty or cutting pressure increases – and offers real-time remote support via the integrated IXON VPN router.
