Key Features
Description
MC 316 Swing Machining Center – High - Performance Through - Feed System for Automated Profile Processing
The MC 316 Swing machining center is a highly automated production system designed according to the through - feed principle, with a continuous left - to - right workflow. It combines flexible profile handling, multi - spindle machining, and integrated cutting modules, making it ideal for high - volume and industrial profile processing.
Modular Machine Design for Continuous Production
The MC 316 Swing consists of a coordinated modular system:
MMB infeed magazine
UMB material pusher
MFC machining cell, including the MTV vertical cutting module
MPF outfeed system
This modular structure ensures smooth material flow, short cycle times, and maximum process reliability.
Infeed Magazine – Stable and Flexible Profile Handling
The infeed magazine is designed for manual loading of profiles and provides secure support during transport:
5 transport belts
3 horizontal support rollers
9 combined support units with horizontal and vertical rollers
3 adjustable profile straightening roller units (adaptable to profile width)
6 horizontal and 3 vertical profile pressure rollers
Profile dimensions:
Maximum length: 7,200 mm
Minimum length: 1,000 mm
Loading depth: 2,200 mm
Maximum evenly distributed load: 300 kg
The profile stop is located on the right - hand side of the magazine.
Material Pusher – Precise Profile Positioning
The material pusher positions the profile accurately through the machining station and offers the following movements:
X - axis travel: 9,050 mm
Gripper adjustment Y: 140 mm
Gripper adjustment Z: 140 mm
Gripper rotation: ±95°
This ensures precise and repeatable feeding of the profiles into all processing stations.
Machining Station – Flexible Multi - Spindle Processing
Central Milling Module
The central milling module is equipped with:
3 NC axes with two - dimensional interpolation (X–Y, Y–Z, or X–Z)
1 NC rotary axis for turntable rotation
Axis travels:
X - axis: 300 mm
Y - axis: 570 mm
Z - axis: 470 mm
A - axis: ±185°
The module includes 4 milling spindles (optionally expandable to 6 or up to 8 spindles with pneumatic spindle positioning):
Power: 4.5/5.4 kW (S1/S6)
Torque: 2.39/2.86 Nm (S1/S6)
Speed: up to 18,000 rpm
Air - cooled
Tool holder: ER32, max. tool diameter Ø 20 mm
Vertical Cutting Module (MTV)
The integrated vertical cutting module features:
Power: 5 kW
Saw blade diameter: Ø 550 mm
Axis travels:
Y - axis: 950 mm
Z - axis: 465 mm
C - axis: ±90°
Cutting capacity: 180 × 250 mm
An optional horizontal cutting module is available for extended cutting capabilities.
Intelligent Profile Clamping System
The system is equipped with multiple two - way clamping units:
1 two - way clamping system before the central milling module
1 two - way clamping system after the central milling module
1 two - way clamping system after the cutting module, including an outfeed gripper for finished parts
Optionally, the clamping system can be configured as a motorized clamping system for increased automation.
Advanced Software and Machining Functions
The MC 316 Swing is operated via the MeSoft 2.0 graphical programming software, combined with an ISO - compliant programming system.
Supported functions include:
Linear and circular interpolation on two axes
Five - sided machining, using optional accessories such as the MFT profile end milling unit or the MLT profile end machining module
Reliability in Continuous Operation
A CNC - controlled automatic central lubrication system with level monitoring ensures optimal lubrication of all axes and long - term operational reliability. Optional remote service for the machine software simplifies diagnostics and maintenance.
User - Friendly Operation
The system is operated via an 18.5” touchscreen, supported by mouse and keyboard, ensuring intuitive control even in complex production environments.
Dimensions of the Finished Part Buffer
Depending on the configuration of the finished part buffer, the system dimensions are:
Length: 18,500/21,500 mm
Width: 4,300 mm
Height: 2,870 mm
